This site is under development and will, when complete, represent all that is on offer for this new community facility.

The operating basis is that the building will be run on the ‘Village Hall principle’, open to anyone over 18 by application through a user group.

An Operating Committee is being established from representatives of the various user groups (of which the Aboyne and District Men’s Shed is one such group).

Shed Location

The Shed is located down Cemetery Road just off Ballater Road and shares the disused quarry area with the Aboyne Games Shed. The lower floor will be fitted out as a comprehensive workshop for woodworking, metal work, creating, repairing crafting activities and operated by the Aboyne and District Men's Shed with the space available to other user groups. The upper floor is allocated for comfortable social use in one area and another section for arts and crafts, floor exercise, a demonstration kitchen and office/IT space. Groups can apply for their use targeted in particular at people who have time on their hands to learn new things and utilise and transfer their own lifetime acquired skills. Limited mobility access is provided to both levels

Shed Opening Date

We are planning on completion in early December – however, Covid 19 restrictions may prevent this and almost certainly will incur constraints on attendance, activities and numbers. The aim regardless of these unfortunate circumstances is to fully commission the facility as soon as possible .
